There are a lot of Anderson's in North America, the first settling in the York watershed of the Virginia colony north of the current city of Richmond in the 1600’s. This site hosts the Robert Anderson family database and while Robert’s ancestry is a bit of mystery, however many of his descendents have been traced. Being a descendent of Robert, I got involved several years ago by updating a branch of the family which had last been updated in 1965. This was fairly easy since I knew who my aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters were and was able to track and verify the nephews, nieces and cousins as well as their descendents. My nephew became interested and put the Robert Anderson family and the David Denny Family in Genealogical Data Communication (GEDCOM) format. I located additional family records published in the 1930’s and added them. Next, my son and I decided to publish this database on the web and purchased server based genealogical software. Well, this is how things get started and we would like to find more Anderson’s that can trace their roots to Robert Anderson, the early if not first Anderson’s in the American colonies.
The database can be searched and there are a number of features available.
This is a "work in progress", the database has not been installed yet.
